Collegelands : Multi Storey Car Park

City Parking, MSCP, Glasgow

This new 8 storey car park is located on Duke Street just at the edge of Glasgow’s vibrant Merchant City. As part of Phase 1 of the Collegelands Development, Dawn secured Glasgow City Council and their parking partner, City Parking (Glasgow) LLP on a 25 year lease for a new 1225 space multi storey car park. Prior to construction and with the lease fundamentals in place we were able to forward fund the project in partnership with Standard Life. At the time this was an innovative funding model but one that was essential for success given that we were in the middle of the biggest recession in recent times when the project started in March 2010. The car park was constructed as a steel frame with pre-cast concrete floors and glazed stair cores. The external façade was then clad with pre-cast concrete panels either acid etched or with cast in brick slips to continue the industrial brick warehouse design theme of the Collegelands development. The car park was opened in September 2011.
